Bouygues Construction
PowerShell, Intune, and SCCM Working Together for Workstation Management
About the client
Bouygues Construction, a subsidiary of the Bouygues group, is a leading company in construction and building and public works services. Founded in France, it operates internationally, offering a broad range of services across building construction, transport infrastructure, energy projects, and urban development.
The business challenge
Managing 31,000 PCs and 15,000 mobiles in a Windows environment
To support the management of a device fleet of 31,000 PCs and 15,000 mobiles running Windows, Bouygues Construction called on Synapsys to reinforce its team with a workstation administrator. The workstation team, made up of several engineers, works across SCCM and Microsoft Intune for device management, and relies on PowerShell scripting to automate tasks.
Our solution
A progressive migration from SCCM to Intune
At Bouygues Construction, workstation management follows a controlled process, with every aspect planned, structured, and documented upfront to simplify device management and security. SCCM and Intune currently run in co-management, handling Bouygues Construction's extensive device fleet together. This transitional coexistence gives the team time to configure Intune so it can progressively absorb the full set of applications, workstations, and GPOs.
Alongside this gradual application migration to Intune, Bouygues Construction continues rolling out Windows Autopilot, already in production for several months, which will eventually let the team handle device deployment, reset, and reassignment without IT intervention.
Implementation
Scaling automation with PowerShell
As a Windows-based environment, Bouygues Construction is working to make fuller use of Microsoft's PowerShell scripting language. Accelerating PowerShell-based automation has been one of the strategic priorities for the Synapsys workstation administrator on the account. Over the past year, around thirty scripts have been put to use, for both one-off tasks and ongoing automation.
The Synapsys Cloud Solution Architect on the account works across an international scope, contributing at multiple levels of the environment.
Measurable results
Progress toward a modern, automated workstation environment
Bouygues Construction is steadily advancing its Intune adoption, growing its library of PowerShell automation, and benefiting from a live Autopilot rollout that is reducing manual IT work, all backed by international-level solution architecture expertise from Synapsys.
