Strengthening Intune Mastery for Mobile Device Management
About the client
Monoprix is a French retail chain known for its positioning on quality products across food, fashion, beauty, home decor, and household goods. Founded in 1932, Monoprix operates primarily in urban areas with a dense network of stores located in city centers.
The business challenge
Auditing the Intune solution
Monoprix's device management is split into two distinct scopes: workstations managed through SCCM, and mobile devices managed through Intune. Its mobile fleet numbered close to 1,000 devices, mostly Android. To expand its use of Intune, Monoprix called on Synapsys in December 2022 to audit its current use of the platform, which at the time managed 800 mobile devices.
Our solution
A technical and functional audit with clear recommendations
Synapsys ran a technical and functional audit of Monoprix's Intune solution to assess its level of use and provide recommendations. The audit found that while the solution was fully functional, it wasn't being used for process industrialization or automation, largely due to limited time and a partial understanding of the tool among the teams in place.
Synapsys recommended adjusting certain configurations that were sometimes in conflict, enabling industrialization and automation processes, training the teams on the tool, and rationalizing licenses to generate cost savings.
Implementation
Four work packages to optimize the solution
Building on the audit's recommendations, Monoprix trusted a Synapsys expert to guide the optimization work across four successive packages: implementing a remediation plan covering assignment conflict resolution, application security through group creation and device exclusions, and enrollment restrictions; building industrialization processes by listing use case scenarios, implementing configurations, and deploying required applications, translating Monoprix's mobile vision into concrete use cases such as managing corporate versus personal Android devices; running technical training workshops for the industrialization team and functional training for support teams on managing the mobile device lifecycle in Intune; and building documentation, including a Technical Architecture Document, enrollment procedures, incident response procedures, and an assignment guide.
Measurable results
Full technical and functional control of Intune
This engagement significantly strengthened Monoprix's technical and functional command of Intune, successfully integrating the 1,000 mobile devices in its fleet, and opening the door to potentially extending the same approach to its workstations in the future.
