The business challenge
The scope of the Workplace team
ALD's Workplace team, made up of 10 people, manages a fleet of 12,000 Windows workstations. To strengthen its Workplace organization, split across three areas, Workplace, Exchange, and Identity, ALD called on several Synapsys experts.
This central team is responsible for applying global settings shared across the whole group to workstations, while delegating user management, imaging, and specific configurations to local IT teams.
Our solution
Reinforcing Active Directory management
ALD's Identity team was strengthened with a Synapsys Azure Active Directory architect. Their role covers managing both the on-premise and cloud Active Directory, including identity control, cloud identity synchronization, securing access to the ALD tenant, and resolving issues related to AD domain controllers.
Implementation
Extending expertise to broader identity projects
The Azure AD architect also brought expertise to adjacent projects, including deploying document labeling with Azure Information Protection and implementing an Information Barriers tool as part of ALD's acquisition of LeasePlan.
