BRED Banque Populaire
Rationalizing and Securing an SCCM Infrastructure in Transition to Intune
About the client
BRED Banque Populaire is a regional cooperative bank and member of the BPCE Group, France's second-largest banking group. It supports individuals, professionals, and businesses with a full range of banking and financial services.
BRED's teams engaged Synapsys to strengthen their workplace engineering capabilities and structure the modernization of their SCCM infrastructure.
The business challenge
BRED operates a multi-tier SCCM architecture, consisting of a central server and two primary servers dedicated to each geographic zone. The bank is currently migrating to Windows 11, with the eventual goal of moving to full-cloud management via Microsoft Intune.
Our solution
Securing the device fleet, patch management, and process modernization
Synapsys structured the engagement around the following workstreams:
- Audit and rationalize the existing SCCM architecture to simplify and improve the reliability of the setup
- Study patch management migration scenarios to Intune and produce a roadmap
- Replace the third-party application update tool with a solution enabling automated deployment
- Manage BIOS updates and SecureBoot certificates across all device models in the France/Europe and Asia-Pacific fleets
- Improve the Windows 11 build sequence by integrating security baselines and removing applications with no business value
- Rebuild the network flow matrix to meet the group's security requirements
Implementation
Automation and preparation for full-cloud Intune
Alongside the security workstreams, Synapsys is supporting BRED in modernizing its operational processes, with the goal of freeing up engineering time for higher-value, strategic projects.
The entire engagement is carried out in line with the Intune trajectory: every workstream is designed to reduce dependency on SCCM and ease the transition to full-cloud management.
Measurable results
Consistency maintained across the international fleet
The solutions developed for the France/Europe scope are systematically shared with the Asia-Pacific teams, ensuring consistent practices and security levels across BRED's entire international device fleet.
