The business challenge

Merging information systems and overhauling the technical stack

Within the Digital Agence team, our role was to support the merger of Crédit du Nord's and Société Générale's information systems.

The goal was to redesign the IS, migrate business applications such as credit simulation, savings, and share trading, modernize the infrastructure, and automate processes to gain agility, robustness, and efficiency.

Our solution

A cloud-native stack built for migration and automation

The engagement began with migrating the information system: extracting and reinjecting data, migrating databases, deploying applications, and automating processes using Ansible and AWX.

A new cloud-native technical stack was deployed, combining Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, Kubernetes for deployment orchestration, Prometheus and Grafana for observability, ELK for log management, and Java/Spring Boot with Tomcat for the applications.

Implementation

Automating environments, strengthening resilience, and supporting teams

Automating provisioning, monitoring, and load testing drastically cut environment setup times. Development, staging, and production environments that once took several days are now ready within minutes.

Cloud-native practices such as autoscaling and multi-zone high availability were introduced to strengthen the resilience, performance, and continuity of the information system.

Synapsys also supported the development teams directly, helping create Kubernetes namespaces, configure and secure applications, manage access, and integrate external APIs, including those of the Banque de France.

Rolling out observability tooling and retiring monolithic solutions helped optimize IS management, improve performance, and reduce costs, following a disciplined FinOps approach.
